Two political trends built in thousand days

Although I have lived far from my home country for almost 6 years, I closely follow what happens there, one of the topics that I have always wanted to study and I am passionate is politics,  in special about politics and its scope in society.

For this reason, I want to focus this blog on world politics, specifically Colombian politics and its two tendencies Liberal and conservative, but in this case of the extreme right and extreme left.

Colombian Politics is built from democracy, ok, our teachers tried to teach us that many years ago, but it really is a utopia, so this is not really true these tendencies were born in the past and they have tried to maintain a balance in the political spectrum, have become two insane and dangerous thoughts.

This dichotomy born in 18 century when two forces against each other for the power of one country, Liberals leaded for the people and conservatives leaded for the government called like that for your thought.

The Thousand Days War was fought between October 17, 1899 and November 21, 1902, the conflict resulted in the economic devastation of the nation, more than one hundred thousand deaths, the disappearance of the National Party and the state in the country remained after the conflict, in addition to our political division that affects the country for days.

From the end of the war, two perfectly drawn lines appeared in the political spectrum: the extreme left represented by armed groups outside the law and the extreme right represented by former conservatives who became hard-line and extreme politicians.

According to Kristian Skrede Gleditsch, editor of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, broader political rights struggles in autocratic regimes provide another context in which violence can occur. Autocratic regimes typically deny citizens the space for political activities and often resort to severe repression. Although, this is true in my opinion we must remember that people choose their governments; basically, often the mistake people make is to elect the ruler by promises before the vote and then repentance comes.

For more than a century, Colombia has been living between the violence of two extreme political thoughts, which have also been involved in corruption, death and drug trafficking; without forgetting that today the extreme right is in command of the country, a country that is on the verge of a civil war for two culprits, the politicians on duty and the citizens who elect them.

Here if I totally agree with Joseph de Maistre who said "Every people or nation has the government it deserves."
